RANCH HISTORY

In 2007,Jen and Brian discussed options on what to do with their future. Drawing on Brian's background in Management and Jen's Agricultural experience, it was decided to start a Bison ranch, utilizing common sense solutions to furnish energy, and lower the costs and carbon footprint of such an endeavor. Agreeing to purely humane and ethical treatment of all animals in our care 100 percent of the time, plans were put together for incorporation and rough, initial enterprise planning.

Matahota Ranch, LLC was incorporated April 14, 2008 in the state of South Dakota, and shortly thereafter, the webspace matahota.com was purchased. In the ensuing time period since the original concept of the enterprise was roughly mapped out, fine-tuning of every minute detail has been recorded and re-tuned, according to current conditions. This is an ongoing, iterative process. This website is version 3.0, the last being posted on 5/27/2010, after major refinements in design and content were effected.

Due to the recent economic downturn, funding for our type of project virtually dried up and would not allow it to get started.We firmly believe in our project 1000 percent and are committed to its success, and are currently seeking investors and funding.
